Uforic Food Cafe Torquay

The Blog

Long time no see!

Posted on

Hello there! Long time now see! I hope you have all been well and that life has been fabulous for you since Uforic Food went into break mode over the last four or five months.

It’s actually quite surreal to be sitting here and typing words into the blog again. It feels wonderful, familiar … and right!

When we spoke last, I was preparing for my wedding … and letting you all know that Uforic Food would be on a break for the foreseeable future. I wasn’t sure how long it would be for or if the blog would ever continue.

Since then, so much has happened … there has been a hens night – and yes – the wedding! I am now officially Mrs Lisa Mary Cummins! Matt and I have been enjoying married life – and we even have an exciting announcement!

No, it’s not a baby – not in the traditional sense, anyway! We have fused our passions – Matt’s for web development, and mine for writing – to start LMC Media Solutions. We hope you’ll pop over and check it out!

I also haven’t forgotten about all the lovely people that commented and emailed me and said they were a bit disappointed they weren’t going to get to see any photos from the big day.

So …

Here’s a sneak peak!

As you can see from the smiles on our faces – it was truly the best day of our whole lives!

As for the blog – I have thought about it a lot – over our honeymoon (I took hundreds of photos – oodles of them being of food and drinks!), during Christmas.  Every time I have cooked a nice meal or went to a restaurant – I still automatically pick up my camera or phone to take a photo. It’s a reflex when you’re a blogger – and over the last four or five month – it hasn’t left me.

Even at our wedding – I told our amazing photographer that she just HAD to take photos of the food. She thought I was a bit weird – but complied. I simply did not want to forget anything about our day – and the food was a very important part of it all.

I have flipped and changed my mind many times – but I have finally decided that I will continue to blog here at Uforic Food. As you can see, I really missed it – it’s part of who I am. I also really did miss you guys and all your support and kindness and just getting your feedback.

Sadly, the weight loss hasn’t continued. But, that’s fodder for another blog post – which I look forward to writing very soon! It’s great to be back and I hope you continue to read and enjoy my musings about food and life!

As for Ruza and Laura – well we have had such a blast together over the passed few months. Ruza was a bridesmaid at our wedding (and she was (and is, of course) amazing!!) . We all had so much fun together at the wedding and the hens and catching up over the past few months. It’s been great just to let our hair down and have fun together as friends. We have decided that Uforic Food is not the right forum for a joint writing partnership. There is lots of talk of exciting future projects – and we will certainly keep you posted about those! Laura and Ruza’s writing is amazing – and so I look forward to using this as a forum to share our projects, together and individually, in the future.

So, what have you been up to over the last few months? What would you like to see more of on Uforic Food as we enter this new phase? I will be blogging three days a week – Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

What’s first up? Well … I can’t let the foodie photos from our wedding and honeymoon pass us by. So, we’ll start with that!

See you back here on Tuesday! I can’t wait!

    • So great to hear from you Lena and congrats on becoming a mum! Sounds like we have both been going through some life changing times! Looking forward to reading more from you … but as you say -these life changes can make blogging a challenge.
Thanks for your lovely words! You’ll be pleased to know we gave the apple cake recipe, along with love heart measuring spoons, as the thank you gift. We also included the story of how we got the recipe from you! Looks like it’s making history for both our families 🙂
