Uforic Food Cafe Torquay

The Blog

One road ends and so – we celebrate!

Posted on

Since turning Uforic Food from a humble food blog, into a real-life cafe near Torquay, Australia – we have experienced so many challenges.

While I wish I could say running a cafe has been about immersing ourselves in coffee, food and all things delicious – it would certainly be a warped perception of the past five months. I still can’t believe the cafe is five months old … how crazy!

And while the time has flown by – we have experienced every kind of challenge. I can’t say it’s been easy – but I think we have handled ourselves pretty well. This includes the fact our side of the Surfcoast Highway (on which we are located, with a number of other business including Beach Tree Nursery and Pantai Garden Art) has been closed since our second week of trading, It opened again about two weeks ago after numerous delays.

We have been asked by so many of our wonderfully supportive customers why we haven’t sued for compensation. But, as the end of the day, we have decided to move on with positivity!

So, on Saturday week (February 22) we will be holding a fun event to celebrate our new beginning – and to give back to the local communities which have supported us.

If you live in Torquay, Geelong, on the Bellerine or Surfcoast, or even in Melbourne – we would be thrilled if you could come!

Matty and I would really love it if you could be there – and even if you can’t, if you could share this event with your friends – we would really, truly appreciate. You can do this via our event page on Facebook (click here to access it).

A portion of our proceeds for the day will go to local animal rescuers at Willowite Wildlife Sanctuary.  – and there will be plenty of donation buckets around as well.

The day will also be a haven for foodies with delicious fruit and veg on sale courtesy of Anglesea Fruitz Provedore – fresh juice, local honey and olive tastings and even cupcake decorating for the kids! That’s not to mention a plant sale at the nursery – as well as great specials at the garden art shop next door. Come down, have a browse and enjoy!

We’ll be back next week with a delicious recipe!
